the ah of life
Nigel Kline discovers vertical time, a perspective in which his entire life is lived within the same moment.
mission possible statement
Fifteen years ago, I set out to tell a story. Five years later, I created my first feature film, ...a little off and to the left... The completion of this project catapulted me into a writing frenzy. My second film, The Last Lunch, touched upon sibling rivalry in coming to terms with mortality. Hungry for more writing and directing, moment, noun became my third feature, a cathartic exercise in religion and philosophy. Most recently, the donut, the balloon and the lifesaver, an eccentric family’s breaking free from the redundancy of holiday traditions and obligations, has received the most critical acclaim; being accepted into the Tacoma Film Festival and the Strasbourg International Film Festival. Presently, my greatest challenge is the ah of life with a cast of 14, eight locations, twice the producers and four time periods. The only thing holding me back is not drive or expression or writer’s block or even inspiration. No, the only thing holding me back is money. Each film has doubled in cost. Please consider continuing this story by becoming an ah of life philanthropist.
the ah of life will cost $10,000.

“Helfrich's incredibly quirky, downright different approach to filmmaking has created an avant-garde, post modern piece with humor so dry it needs a little moisturizer just to keep the flakes away.”
~2009 Strasbourg International Film Festival Director Christine Scott~
